Thank You...............

TGIF !! The weekend is finally here !! Stacy here.......I wanted to share the thank you card I made for my mom to give to her mechanic (does that sound weird ?? lol) anyway, he's a great guy and did I lot for her this past week. The only thing she asked me to do was keep it "manly"....so a tree it is !! Card base is 5x7 Kraft card, tree is SU! and the sentiment is also SU!

Lightening Bug Jar

Well, I forgot. Call me spacey Becky I guess. I completely forgot to post last night. So that means today you get a" twofer". I'm posting this morning and Stacy is going to post later on. This morning's project is a jelly jar I washed out and painted the lid, with acrylic paint. Then I used my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cart and cut out a tag. Then I used my Doodlecharms cart and cut out the jar, stick and leaves. I stamped the little bug (which i think is really a bee) from my Spring Trees stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms and put some yellow stickles on his bum. I layered a little brown card stock with scallop edge onto the tag and then popped up my jar with some pop dots. I then used my Crop a Dile to punch a hole in the lid and used some fabulous Papertrey Ink twine to tie my tag on. Now Abie has a cute little jar to catch lightening bugs in! Have a great morning!

Card Class Part One

Tonight I have two of the four cards we made in our class the other night. Our Teacher, Tara Powell, was so much fun! We used Coordinations card stock and Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird patterned papers. I'm making this short and sweet as I'm battling some icky sinus/allergy issues! Stacy will be back tomorrow with the other two cards from the class!

My Basket

Good morning gals !! I had a little time before work so I thought I would go ahead and post my card. Stacy here.......I finally got my PTI order and was so excited to start stampin picnic baskets !! It doesn't take a lot to make me happy !! lol

This card was basically made with scraps. I have so much paper that I didn't want to waste a sheet until I used up some of the pieces in my basket. Thepicnic basket was stamped and then colored to match my PP. The flowers were stamped with my embossing pad and then heat embossed clear. I used my SU watercolor pencils to color it in.

Well gals, my babysitter just arrived and I'm off to work !! Have a great Monday !!

Too early for fall?

It might be July and it might be 91 degrees outside, but it's never too early for fall in my book! Becky with you today and I have a box to share with you today that is fall themed. About a year ago, Stacy and I challenged each other for several weeks to keep using our stash. This was one of the projects I made. I made this box by tracing a Sonic tater tot box onto black paper. Then I decorated the front with some Rusty Pickle paper, a book plate, and a metal tag. On the back of the box, I added a cute little paperclip with some ribbon attached. For the inside stuffing, I shredded a brown paper lunch sack, in our paper shredder, and crunched it up. I hope you have a great weekend!

Baby Shower Favors

TGIF !!!! Hope everyone has a fun and productive week !! Stacy here tonight with the sour cream containers I made for my cousin's baby shower. I decided to slip a piece of cardstock with the sentiment through the umbrella versus stamping it on the umbrella. I ran my ribbon through the same way. These are so cute and easy to make !!

I know what you're thinking.....I need to take a photography class !! lol I'm not the best picture taker but hey I try !! Here's just another view:

Ok gals....I have to pack for a fun-filled trip that Becky is jealous about (hee hee !!) don't worry Beck, I'll bring ya a little something special back !! Have a great weekend and look for a cute project from Becky tomorrow !!

Quacky Card

I can't believe it's already Thursday! Monday and Tuesday dragged on forever but now it's almost the weekend! Yipee! I'm going to the Bored Housewives Card Club tonight at our local scrapbook store, Stacy is unable to attend due to a scheduling error (thanks Matt, now I have to go alone!) I'm picking up a kit for Stacy though and we'll be sharing those cards later on. My card tonight is an itty bitty thing I made for Abie. She had a rough day last week and I made this to cheer her up.

The card measures 2 1/2 by 6 and I scored it at 3". I started out with the duck from Stampin' Up!s Animal Crackers which I stamped with Versamagic black ink. Then I heat embossed it with clear powder so I could color and not get those ugly black marks. I knew I wanted to use blue and yellow papers and found these two in my Basic Grey Two Scoops pack but I felt bad cutting up a 12x12 sheet for these two little strips. To keep myself from feeling guilty, I cut up the cover sheet, you know the one on the front of the package with all the samples of paper on it, and used two strips. I trimmed the ends to look like little flags and then stuck them to my base. I finished it off by adhering a blue button, with some twine, to my stamped image and popping it up on a pop dot!

Abie loved the card and in turn made me a card that said "you're the greatest, from your first child." Lol!

Simple Thanks

Hello there, it's Becky with you tonight and I have a simple little card to share with you. After all the prep that went into Landry's birthday party, I needed a simple thank you card to send out. This is what I came up with:

I adhered a 2 1/2 inch wide strip of Basic Grey Two Scoops to my Kraft base and tied a knot around it. Then I simply stamped thanks with my Versamark pad and heat embossed with Tim Holtz white embossing powder. The stamp set I used was Atomic from Close to My Heart. I don't know if I've ever used that thing! Do you ever do that?

Baby Shower Invites

Hey there !! Stacy here........do you ever get wind of someone having a party and your mind starts to go crazy with ideas??? Sometimes you can't turn them off !! Becky can tell you that I tend to get myself involved in too many things at once !! I think I work better under stress !!

Well, my cousin is expecting her first baby.....a girl !! I was honored when I was asked to help with the shower. The ideas just started coming and coming !! My first post for this week are the invitations. Forgive me, but the idea came from Splitcoast, but I can't remember who made them (thank you !!) The colors that were decided on are a little hard to see, but they are dark brown, light pink and white. The card measures a little shy of 5x7 in order to fit in the envelopes I found by Kraft. Look for more coordinating goodies this week !!

With this Post...

Today is our 100th post! I can't believe it! Stacy and I were just talking about it yesterday and how fast it's gone! I hope you all have enjoyed it as much as we have! By the way, it's Becky with you today and I'm enjoying the nice weather here. It's absolutely beautiful today. Low humidity, which is almost unheard of here in July, low temperatures and just gorgeous! We've got the air turned off and the windows open, hoping to air the house out a little bit. Okay, on to my card for today. I started this card several weeks ago, when I did this project. I had a left over scalloped square and started playing around with it. I trimmed it down and adhered it to my card base, and then it just sat there! Do you have stuff like that just laying around? I do it all the time. I'll stamp something and color it in and then do nothing with it! So last Saturday I finally did something with it! I stamped the little journaling spot, which I picked up in Archiver's Hot Spot about a year ago. I believe it's an Autumn Leaves stamp. Then I punched out that little heart with my Fiskar's punch, which Stacy picked up for my birthday a couple of years ago, I stamped my sentiment, adhered a button with some twine and finished it off with a bit of American Crafts ribbon! Hope you enjoy and have a great weekend!

Bee-autiful Gift Bag

TGIF !!!! I didn't think today was ever going to get here !! Work was soooo slow today !! Plus the weather is just gorgeous here and I was just waiting to get outside !!

For the last CHF Challenge I had to stamp on one sheet of paper and then use all of the paper on a project. Cards, layout, whatever we chose. I decided to make a gift bag that is perfect for all of the readers in my family. I stamped two different bees from Kim Hughes on my PP. I embossed with clear embossing powder (I love embossing !!) then it was time to assemble. My paper measures 12x12. I scored one side at 5 and 7 in. to make the sides and bottom of the bag. I scored the other two sides at 2 in. to make the sides. I then cut along the scored lines on the 2 in sides to give each side a flap that folds into the bottom of the bag. The rest is just taping together with double sided tape and decorating. The bow on the front is actually paper.....isn't that cute ?? I finished it off by stamping one more bee and tying it around the handle.

These are so easy to make and are so darn cute !! Well, kids are ready to get back outside !! Have a great weekend gals !! Stacy

Brown Pom Poms

Aaaahhh, TGIT! That means tomorrow is Friday! It's Becky with you tonight and I have a card to share using some brown pom pom trim, which I love! My card base is dark brown and I topped it with some Daisy D's paper followed by a square of Kraft colored card stock which I ran through my Cuttlebug with my Script embossing folder. I added a little trim on the side, followed by my Mixed Mega Messages sentiment, stamped on my round tab punch and finished off with my Out on a Limb branch popped up on some pop dots! I hope you all have a great night. I'm excited for eviction night on Big Brother! (yes, I'm afraid I am a victim of reality TV, good or bad :)

Window Card

Hola !! Stacy here (we just finished watching Dora) with my next CHF Challenge card. This time our task was to make a scene. Well, I think I accomplished that !! Not your traditional card by any means, but fun nonetheless !! Card measures 5 1/4 by 4 3/4. The stamps are all from Kim Hughes and I decided to paper piece them together in order to make my window view. I freehanded a piece of PP to make the curtains and added some ribbon on the back to give it a little dimension. I needed a curtain rod, couldn't find anything that was the right size.....and remembered I have lots of huge trees outside !! So, a branch is it !! I put eyelets in the curtain and tied twine to my "rod". Interesting ???? Maybe a little over the top, but fun to make !!

More Flower Soft

It's Tuesday and I couldn't be more happy about it! It's Becky with you tonight and the reason why I'm excited is because of the Papertrey Ink release tonight!!!!! I love their stamps and I can't wait for some of the new ones to come out tonight. My card tonight started with the flowers from PTI's Green Thumb which I stamped in purple and green Versamagic ink. Then I dabbed a little bit of glue in the center of the flowers and sprinkled some Flower Soft on them. I trimmed around them glued them to the back of the flower pot which I stamped with brown Versamagic ink and trimmed it out. For my card, I used a dark green piece of card stock and adhered an old piece of Karen Foster patterned paper which I trimmed with my EK Success punch. Sorry about the picture being so crooked! Hope you have a great night!

A Card Ya Can't "Resist" !!

Ok......the title was a little corny !! lol Stacy here tonight....warn out and ready for bed !! Mondays are such a drag sometimes hee hee !!

This card was for the 3rd CHF Summer Challenge. We had to use a resist technique of sorts. Well, I've never resisted anything (almost) and tried my hand at emboss resist.

The first step was to run my paper through the Cuttlebug with this embossing folder that surprisingly matched my paper !! After that, I decided to watercolor the raised image. Step 3 was to rub my embossing pad over the image and heat emboss. Last but not least was to gently rub the entire image with brown ink and wipe away. This left my raised images nice and shiny. I can't say I would do this again, but I like the technique !! Do you like my flower ??? I cut out 3 different sizes of scalloped circles with the Cuttlebug. I then cut every two indents (does that make sense ??) I rolled the cut edges around a pencil and secured them all together with a button. I really like how it turned out and you'll probably see more of this from me !!

Alright, kids are waiting on snacks and drinks........Stacy signing out.........

Feel Absolutely Fabulous

Good morning friends! It's Becky with you today with a fun card I made for my Grandma! I started out with a white card base, rounded the corners and trimmed a melon piece of card stock to fit, also with rounded corners. I ran the melon piece through my Cuttlebug with my Textile Textures embossing folder. Then I adhered some pom pom trim to my patterned paper and stuck that piece to the melon card stock. I also made a ribbon flower to embellish the card and attached my sentiment on a hand trimmed flag to go underneath it. The sentiment came from Papertrey's' Mega Mixed Messages. I first stamped Absolutely Fabulous and let it dry. Then I used a sticky note and placed it over the sentiment. I inked up the Feel on the Feel better sentiment and stamped it, centered over Absolutely Fabulous. I love the way it turned out!
Here's an up close picture of the card.

Tissue Flower

Happy Friday !! Stacy here tonight........I was at work today and was in the cleaning mood and came across this tissue paper in one of my drawers. I know that a while back Becky had posted a paper flower kinda similar and decided to give it a shot. The tissue paper came in this brown and white pattern and also the solid brown. I cut several layers of circles....I wanted a BIG flower !! I then secured them all together with a brad and smashed it up into a ball. Once I flattened it out a little, I took green MM paint and brushed the edges with a papertowel. I added a green and brown button to the center and secured to my card with glue dots. I kinda like the retro look of this card !! Will definitely try my hand at this again !! Have a great weekend !!

Sympathy Card

Hello there, it's Becky with you today and I have a sympathy card to share. I started out with a Kraft card stock base and matted a piece of melon colored card stock onto it with an edge I punched out with the Fiskar's Threading Water Punch. I stamped my sentiment at the bottom using Mixed Messages from Papertrey Ink. Then I dipped three toothpicks into some Scrappy Glue and sprinkled them with Flower Soft in Summer. I adhered the toothpicks to the white card stock and attached the milk can with pop dots, over the toothpicks. I'm not sure what brand the milk can is but it's a rubber stamp I picked up at a local stamp store. I fastened a little yellow ribbon on top of the milk can and adhered the white card stock to some yellow. I finished it off by adhering the whole piece to the melon card stock with pop dots. Hope you have a good afternoon!

My goal is to be caught up by the time they get married, no easy task !! Enjoy, have a great night and we'll see ya Friday !! : )

CHF Challenge #2

Hey Gang !! Stacy here....hope everyone had a great holiday weekend !!

Well, it's challenge week #2, paper piecing. Here is my submission, my favorite little owl Owen. I stamped him on different papers and pieced him back together. I also did the same for the birthday hat and trees. All the stamps I used were from CHF. Thanks for stoppin' in !!

Quick Birthday Card

It's Becky with you today and I have a quickie birthday card to share. A few weeks ago Abie went to her friend Paige's younger brother's birthday party. Whew, that was a mouthful! Anyway, I needed a card for his gift...quick! I trimmed black cardstock to 3x6, scored at 3" then adhered a piece of red cardstock trimmed to 2 3/4 x 2 3/4". Then I finished it off with a Basic Grey cardstock sticker from Two Scoops, which I adhered with pop dots. Super simple! Have a great day!

Happy Fourth of July! (and a t-shirt)

Happy Fourth of July! It's Becky with you this morning and I have a quickie post for ya. I had intended on buying Abie a shirt or outfit to wear today, as I always do, and the time just slipped away from me. So when Stacy had the brilliant idea to stamp shirts for the kids I did a mental head slap. She's so smart! :) I bought a four pack of tank tops at Wal-mart, for $4, and stamped the large firecracker from Stampin' Up!s Independece Day set then I used the firecracker topper from PTIs Let Freedom Ring set. I held the shirt up and my firecracker looked slightly off so I grabbed the 4th of July stamp from my Hero Arts July set and stamped in underneath, bringing the whole image back to the center. I love the way it turned out.

I can hardly believe my baby is two today! We have a big bash going on, starting at 1 PM, so I'm off to finish preparations! I hope you have a fun and safe holiday!

Thank You Card Set

Happy Friday Everyone !! Stacy here again.......with a quick little Thank you card set. I actually used scrap pieces of paper to decorate the front of the cards. I had so much piling up that I thought this might be a good way to get rid of a few !! About a thousand more cards and my scraps should be all gone !! lol The box is actually a box from PTI that contained a stamp set. Never throw away a box !! They come in handy : ) That's all for me--got more 4th of July decorations to finish !! Have a great holiday !!

4th of July Dress Up

Hey gang !! Stacy here.....thanks to Becky for sitting in for me last night !! I had a busy night after work and wasn't gonna be able to post until 10 or 11 !! Anyway......Becky came over the other night and we made shirts for the kiddos for 4th of July. I have to say that after doing this, I think I'm addicted !! lol

Lots of pics tonight, so I'll stop blabbering and let ya look !! The first pic is the two shirts I made for my girls. I also ended up decorating flip flops and hair pieces.....they gotta match !!

This is a close up of one of the shirts. I used Palette Ink and stamps from PTI:

This is a pic of all 4 shirts I made: My two daughters, my son and my nephew:

And finally a close-up of the flip flops. I love red white and blue !! They may end up with flip flops for every holiday lol !! Ok, that's it for tonight, thanks for stoppin' by !!

Simple Banner

Well it's Becky with you again. Stacy had a lot on her plate tonight so I'm posting in her place. She'll be back tomorrow though! I have a super easy project for you today. I was browsing through Martha Stewart Living the other day and notice a banner she had made to go over a dinner table. She took 5x8 triangles and strung them on some twine. I did the same thing here only instead of using red and white paper like her, I pulled out all of my Fourth of July themed paper and trimmed them into 5x8 triangles. There are fourteen here and they stretch all the was across our fireplace. I'm not sure if I'll hang this here for the party or if I'll hang it out on the back deck somewhere. I'll have to see what strikes my fancy Saturday!

This was a super easy project and another great way to add to the patriotic theme!

Here's a close up shot of the banner.

Hope you have a great evening!
