Back to Work !!

Reality check........vacation is over and time for me to get back to my kiddo's and job and paper !!! Hubby and I just got back this afternoon from an awesome little getaway in Hermann, Mo. If you've never been---I highly recommend it !! Below is the view as you come into the city....how gorgeous is that ????

This is the house we stayed in.......we had the whole house to ourselves !! It was so beautiful, a nice relaxing place that we both really needed !! This is the Captain's House of the Captain Wohlt Bed and Breakfast:

This is the common room of the house. It had a huge dining room table, nice TV (that's my hubby goin' to check some baseball scores......men !! lol ) To his credit, when we arrived there was chocolates, flowers, champagne and a gift certificate to the Stone Hill Winery in our room.....what a sweet man I have !!

Hermann has a lot of wineries in town. This is the sign for the Stone Hill Vintage Restaurant that we ate some of the best German food we've ever tasted !!

This is my favorite pic of the bunch !!! I know you're probably wondering what in the world are they doin' with a stuffed monkey ?????? Well, my oldest daughter has dubbed this the vacation monkey and anytime we go out of town the monkey goes too (I'm still laughing at this pic !!) My hubby takes the best monkey pictures......he is absolutely hilarious !! So, our friend is relaxing on the jacuzzi in our room:

That's gonna be all for me tonight.......time to get back to mommy/supervisor mode !! Have a great week and I'll be back on Friday : )

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #14

Hello friends, it's Becky with you tonight with a card for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. I was pretty apprehensive about this one with the purple and all. But I think I got something that works!
I started with a cream colored base and layered a piece of Scarlet Jewel on top, which I had punched the edge with my Threading Water punch. Then I trimmed a piece of Raspberry Fizz and used my Heidi Swapp distress tool to scrape the edges and wrapped some cream twine around it and added a Scarlet Jewel button. I took one of the flower images from the Life set and stamped it on the Plum Pudding and heat embossed it with clear powder, then punched it out and popped it up! To finish off my card, I stamped my sentiment, from Mega Mixed Messages, with Versamagic Ink. Have a great night!

Notes from Home

Happy Monday gals !! I'm off on vacation, thank you Becky for posting this for me !!

I was at the grocery store Saturday and saw these little note pads in a package of 4 for 78 cents.....who can resist that ????? I decided to cover them in PTI paper from a paper pack I had bought and simply finished them off with two scalloped circles, a button and ribbon. The notebooks measured 5x3, so I cut my pp to 6 1/4 by 5. I scored at 3 inches and flipped the paper and scored at 3 inches again (this is easier than trying to do math !!) Simple project, but I think my girls will enjoy them !!

Have a great week and I should be back Wednesday : )

Mom's Birthday Gift

It's Becky with you this Saturday morning. A couple of weeks ago, it was my mom's birthday and I was racking my brain, trying to figure out what to get her. You would think your mom would be easy to buy for but I think she might be the most difficult! I finally came up with the idea for a biscotti mix in a jar with a few little tea bags. I searched the Internet for a good recipe, filled up the jar (which is another blog post in its self) and then made a little package for it. The first picture is of the whole project. I ended up putting tea bags in the front pocket.
This is the back view which contains the recipe for the biscotti.

This is the other side view which has the little 3x3 card I made and attached with a clothespin.

Finally, here's a close up of the little tag on the front of the jar.

I used Daisy D's patterned paper, PTI Mega Mixed Messages, PTI Spring Moss and New Leaf Vintage buttons, PTI twine and PTI New Leaf satin ribbon.

Buttons & News !!

Hey gang !! Which should I start with...news or buttons ??? Let's start with news !! 1. Today is Friday !! 2. I'm leaving on a little getaway to some unknown location with my husband (no kiddos !!) 3. Today Becky and I received our huge package from PTI and spent way too much time sorting buttons !! OMG it was soooo much fun !! We ended up with every color they offer and I can't wait to start using them !!

Now for buttons....I put them to good use (I was almost sad to use them...they're so pretty !!) on my first card with the Everyday Button Bits set. I apologize for the picture, but the colors are borwn, blue and white. I absolutely love this set !! So, I've decided I need a second job just to pay for all of the goodies that PTI has to offer ! (ok, not really.......) well gals, time to tuck the kiddos in bed....have a great weekend !!

Birthday Hat Card

Good evening! It's Becky with you tonight with a fun little birthday card I made for my cousin's daughter. Her 5th birthday was on Saturday and I whipped up this little card, which measures 3x6, and stuck it to the front of her gift bag. I used Bazzil card stock and trimmed a piece of Basic Grey patterned paper to 3x4 and then trimmed it into a triangle. I used my fingers and kind of rounded the triangle out, to help it stick up. Then I stuck it to the card base with some pop dots. I finished of the little hat with some green pom pom trim, added a scalloped edge to the side and stamped my sentiment at the bottom! Oh, and in case you were wondering, our buttons arrived today so look out!

Happy Birthday Mom

Hey there gals !! Stacy here with a birthday card for my mom. As you can see, nothing frilly.....mom likes things simple !! The pp I used was from MMM and it's kinda hard to tell from this fabulous pic (hee hee) but its pink and a very pale green. Well, Stacy discovered that she doesn't have ink to match after I put the card together.........so, being the McGvyer that I am, I inked up with pink and then green. It actually turned out to be perfect !!

A Parting Gift

Hello there, Becky with you this afternoon. Today I have a project to share which I created for a co-worker who is moving on. I made her this little memo stand, which I picked up at JoAnn's for $1, and added to sizes of punched circles and topped with her initial and a piece of ribbon. I repeated the same circle pattern on the 3x3 card along with a swirl in the same blue as her initial. I cut both images out with my Cricut, using the Storybook Cartridge. I stamped the sentiment in Versamagic black from the Mega Mixed Messages set.
Now this idea, I got from the new Idea Book from Stampin' Up! I trimmed chocolate cardstock to 5x7 and repeated the same circle pattern from above. Then I added a jumbo sized initial and flourish. I finished it off with a bit of ribbon.

Finally, this is a picture of the bag, which again repeats the same circle theme and blue flourish.

I had a lot of fun making this set for her, and it was super quick and easy. I already had all the supplies on hand so it went together in a sinch! Have a great night and I'll see you guys on Thursday!

Happy Anniversary !!

What's going on girls ?!?!?!?!?!? Stacy here this hot night in the Midwest !! Well, tomorrow is my mom and dad's 36th wedding anniversary !! What an achievement ! I think I'm in a rare group these days to have parents that are still as much in love as they were when they met. I hope that my husband and I are as happy as they are in 27 years !! I have to apologize about the picture--I just couldn't seem to get the right light. The pp is from MMM, my love birds are SU and the sentiment on the inside (which just says "happy anniversary") is also SU. Have a great night !!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #13

Good Saturday morning to ya friends! It's Becky with you today and I'm super excited to share this card with you today! Dawn McVey, Miss Awesomey Awesomeness, posted this color challenge the other day and I submitted the card below.
It's an anniversary card for my wonderful parents, whom, I believe, have been married for 39 years today! I used my new Everyday Button Bits set, which is an enabler. Due to this set, Stacy and I were FORCED to purchase all the PTI buttons we do not already own! Hopefully they'll arrive next week. This means you'll be seeing A LOT of Button Bits cards on the blog! I used VersaMagic ink and used my glue pad to stamp over the love sentiment and sprinkled a little bit of Martha Stewart glitter over it. All other supplies are PTI. Have a great weekend!
