Summer Tags

Good Saturday morning to you all, Becky here with you today. We gave Abie the choice of doing summer school this year or not. She chose to go which made me so proud. I thought, what a good kid, choosing to spend four weeks of her vacation learning, beefing up skills for second grade when she could be out swimming and riding her bike. Well that thought was shattered when she told me the only reason she wanted to go was because they get prizes! I should have known! She'll be using a different bag for summer school and I thought I'd make her up a new I.D. tag for it. I got the original idea from Emily Giovanni, here. I simply purchased the I.D. holders in the office aisle at Wal-mart, trimmed some cardstock to fit and used my Doodlecharms Cartridge for the watermelon and my Storybook Cartridge for the letters. I like these tags to have more ribbon on them but somehow they always come off at school! I hope you have a great weekend!

End of Year Gift

Becky here today! Abie's last day of first grade was yesterday. She was so excited, wearing her new dress, fresh faced and ready to take on the world, as a second grader. I was devastated. I can't believe how fast she's growing up. This year she has done so well with her reading and writing. It amazes me that she's reading chapter books and writing her own stories. Since we were so proud of her, Mike thought it would be a good idea to get her a little gifty. He picked up some pearl stud earrings and I made this little box to put them in. I used my Bags, Tags, Boxes and More cartridge for my Expression and used the fit to page feature on a 12x12 size piece of orange cardstock. It cut the flower box at 8 3/4. After assembling the box, I trimmed the patterned paper and adhered it to the sides of the box. I then stamped the Learn stamp on white cardstock and attached it to a scallop circle cut out on navy cardstock with my nestabilities. I'm not sure what brand the patterned paper is but I know I got it at Archiver's and the stamp is from Autumn Leaves. Hope you have a great night!

Welcome Baby !!

Stacy here--Well, it's been awhile since anyone I know has had a baby so I'm a little out of practice !! I saw a similar card on Splitcoast by http://www.scrapinkdiva.blogspot.com and loved the layout. I altered mine slightly--I embossed the pink background as well as the large circle instead of using patterned paper. I'm getting in the practice for all the babies being born this year--I have 4 family members expecting !! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by !!

Hostess Gift

Well, I had to tell Stacy to remind me to post today because I keep thinking it's Monday and it's her turn! Which is why it's 7:30 PM and I'm just now posting! Today's project is a little hostess gift I made for my mom. They had us over for dinner this weekend and I whipped this up in about 30 minutes. I got the template from here. It was easy except for the bottom of the box. I think I cut the points on the bottom wrong. :) I then made a little tag with my new Let Freedom Ring set from Lisa Johnson at Papertrey. I used Pallette Inks, in Prussian Blue, a little button and some twine to finish of the tag. On the inside, I used a clear goodie bag and filled it with English walnuts for my mom and dad.
Here's a close up picture of the tag. It's a little blury, but you get the idea!

Birthday Set

Happy Memorial Day !! Stacy here---I went to a 40th birthday party this weekend for my friend Anne. Anne is our wild friend and when I thought about making this bag and card, I had to put skulls on it somewhere !! The skulls are from a Halloween set I have-I dry embossed them on the background paper for the bag and made my own patterned paper. I embossed them again on the card to match. The 40 was cut out from my cricut and I used pop dots to add a little dimension. Thanks for looking !!

Birthday Bag

Happy Saturday, Becky here today! So the weatherman said it was supposed to be 84 today but our outside thermometer, which is shaded under our front porch, says 92! We still have a few hours to go before the hottest part of the day! Today I'm sharing a bag that I fancied up to hold this gift. I used Basic Grey Romani papers, my Stampin' Up! Spiral Punch and the sentiment came from a set of stamps I picked up in the Dollar Spot at Target. I know you're probably sick of seeing all this stuff using Romani but what happened was, after I made this I had all these scraps on my desk so I was trying to use them up. Which resulted in the last two projects! Hope you have a safe and fun holiday weekend!

Birthday Gift Card Set

Becky here with you today! Mike and the girls got me the Animal Crackers set from Stampin' Up! for Mother's Day. That night I went down to my scrapbook room, stamped them and colored them in! I had no plans for the images, I just wanted to color! However, a week later, I remembered I needed a birthday gift, quickly, so I cut the images out with my nestabilities, matted them on scallops and popped them up with some pop dots on scraps of Basic Grey Romani. I had a set of five notecards in no time at all! I might try this method of creating more often, it seemed to work really well! Have a great night!

Birthday for a Boy

Well, happy Tuesday my blog friends! It's a beautiful day here today, supposed to get up to 82! Today's project is a gift tag I made for our neighbor Carson who turned two on Sunday. I have a really hard time making cards and such for boys, especially since I have girls! I'm such a planner and this time, I had to wing it. I wasn't able to plan out my gift tag until I had some inspiration. Where, you might be asking, did my inspiration come from? Target, of course! I picked out Carson the cutest little outfit and I just loved the colors in the t-shirt and plaid button up. I would never have put grey and orange together! So below is a picture of the gift tag, next to my inspiration. I love how it turned out. I used my new cupcake dies from Stampin' Up!, compliments of my hubby and daughters for mothers day, and since my colors were already picked out, this tag just about made itself! Hope you enjoy! --Becky
Here's a picture of the gift all wrapped up. I used more of that American Crafts grey ribbon, like here and here.

Summer Purse

Stacy here--hope everyone had a great weekend !! Today I'm posting this adorable little purse that I found on Splitcoast http://creativepad.typepad.com. I altered mine slightly by adding buttons to the front of the brads that hold the purse closed. I decided to put sunblock, lip gloss and a pair of sunglasses in it. Perfect for summer !! Enjoy !!

Welcome

Aaaahhh, Saturday! Becky here this morning and it's our neighborhood garage sale today and I write to you while sitting in the garage, people watching! After all the hard work putting everything out to sell, this is the part I love. Sitting here, just watching the people coming and going! Today's project is one I was so excited to make, and it turned out just as I hoped! It's a welcome sign that I made for our front door. I used Basic Grey papers, my Cricut Storybook Cartridge, Autumn Leaves buttons and Kaiser Craft rhinestones. I cut the shapes at 4" and my letters at 3 1/2 " with a black shadow behind them. Here's a pic of the whole banner:

I ran my white paper through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder to mimick rain. It's a little hard to tell from the pic, but the colors are grey, blue, yellow and white. Grad Card II

Well today's card is the second graduation card I made, but forgot to upload onto the laptop. This one is for our nephew who graduates next Friday. I can hardly believe it. He was just six years old when Mike and I started dating and now he graduating from high school! He's kind of a rocker and not "into" school colors or anything like that, so I went with a black and grey color scheme. Just like this card, I ran the black cardstock through the Cuttlebug. I cut the numbers out from the Storybook cartridge on my Expression and got the sentiment and graduation cap from this set from Cornish Heritage Farms (thanks again Stacy!) Hope you have a great Thursday night! Becky

Mother's Day

Happy day before Mother's Day! It's been a beautiful Saturday here, I love this weather. Today I have a gift to share that I made for my mom. I bought her a bird house, to hang outside her sunroom, and then made a set of four cards to match. I then created the front for this kraft colored gift bag, which matches the cards, for all of it to go in. Below is the gift bag. I used Heidi Grace patterned paper.
Here's a shot of the four gift cards tied up and ready to go.

Here's a close up of the two thank you cards.

Here's a pic of the two Happy Birthday cards.

Finally, a picture of all four cards together. Hope you enjoy, and have a beautiful Mother's Day!

Graduation Card

Becky here tonight. We've got a couple of graduations this month and I've made cards for both but I forgot to upload the pictures of the other card onto the laptop. Sooooo, I've only got this one to share tonight, since it's late and it's getting close to bedtime. I trimmed a piece of red cardstock and ran it through the cuttlebug with the script embossing folder. I then added some grey American Crafts ribbon. I used my Plantin Schoolbook cartridge to cut out the letters and matted them on black cardstock. Finally I stamped the cap from this set from Cornish Heritage Farms. (thanks Stacy!) I trimmed the cap out and popped it up with some pop dots. Have a great night and I'll see ya Saturday!
Here's a close up picture of the card.

Mother's Day Cards

Stacy here---can you believe it's May already? This year is flying by !! Well, today I'm showing the two cards I made for my mom and mom-in-law. I used my favorite color combination-blue, white & brown (my 4 year old likes to tell me that brown isn't a color !!) I used stamps from CHF and I believe the row of flowers is from Hobby Lobby. I watercolored the flowers to match.

Have a great week and Happy early Mother's Day !! : )

Here's a front view of the notebook...

Just kidding.........teachers deserve more than they get and I'm so glad that Madison has an awesome 1st grade teacher !! Teacher Appreciation!

Whew, what a busy busy day. The morning started with breakfast at Bob Evan's, mmmm, then we took the upper cabinet doors off. Mike sanded, I glazed, the girls played. Then at Landry's naptime, Mike mowed and I planted flowers. Now, it's 6:00, dinner is in the oven and I'm exhausted! Today's project is the brain child of Becky Roberts. If you've never checked out her blog, I suggest you do. She's got some awesome projects and also some great tutorials for sale. This project is her Stationery Set and I whipped one up for Abie's teacher. Next week is Teacher Appreciation week and I thought she might enjoy this. I used Karen Foster patterned paper and DCWV cardstock, Stampin' Up! stamps and ribbon from my stash. I hope you enjoy!
Here's an inside pic of the set.

Here's an up close pic of the card. I thought this was too cute with the little insert!
